If you consistently strive to improve your game yet see no distinct improvement no matter how many times you play; there is, indeed a light at the end of the tunnel. I can prove there is a better golfer inside everyone.
Golf has undergone a slight boom in the last decade - thanks to a certain Eldrick Woods (aka Tiger Woods) - that has seen more people take up the game.
Regardless of what part of your game needs adjusting, sharpness or just plain overhauled, its important that you get the basics right.
90% of bad shots stem from your set up!! Nobody wants to rebuild a swing from scratch, at any level. I will use the good parts of your swing and build on re-tuning it.

"I have been a playing member of West Byfleet golf club for over 35 years.
At my best I played to six handicap but in recent years my handicap has been on an upward trend.
In an effort to reverse this trend I sought Professional advice from Barry Young who quickly identified my faults,
suggested changes, and by using modern teaching aids (video etc) and by explaining the reason’s for change in a
simple way soon had me on the road to recovery.
Barry joined the West Byfleet Professional staff fourteen years ago. I have known him since that time and have
always found him to be polite, helpful, knowledgeable in all aspects of golf and respected as such by fellow members
of the club.
I highly recommend Barry not only as a teacher but, also, as a very competent Golf Professional."

"Retired at 65; Eyes going Body gone.
I needed a challenge, a golfing target- could I still be single figures at 70?
Thanks to Barry who has got the best out of my limitations I have reduced my handicap to 8.2 so as I approach my sixty
ninth birthday I think I have a great chance of achieving my target.
Bring on the next challenge Barry!!!!!!!!"

"I'd played golf for more than 40 years to a pretty decent standard when I lost my game.
I'd had this experience before and my game had always come back. But not this time.
Golf was no longer much fun. Then it was my good fortune to play with Barry Young. He
suggested a tiny adjustment that I understood and put into practice. Straightaway I was
hitting the ball better than I had for more than a year. A few lessons followed where
Barry made a few more adjustments. My game is probably better at present than it's ever
been and golf is fun again. I'm now a fixture in Barry's diary and would recommend him to
anyone who wants to improve their game".

"I have enjoyed our coaching sessions together.
Your uncomplicated tips and drills are a great help
in obtaining the feel for any changes to improve my
technique.
The changes we have made are starting to bear fruit.
Thanks for your patience. I am looking forward to our
next session on the short game".

"I have been playing golf for over 59 years, and have had many lessons. However, over
the last ten years I have only been taught by Barry Young.
I can honestly say that Barry is the best teacher that I have had. He has managed
to reduce my handicap, over this period, by his simple but effective teaching
method. He concentrates on one element of the swing at a time, and ensures that you
have mastered this before going onto the next stage-there are no quick fixes!
Barry never fails to be enthusiastic, and remembers your swing, even though you have not
had a lesson for some time. I would recommend Barrys teaching method to anyone who
wishes to improve their game, and reduce their handicap, but a word of warning- Barry
expects you to work as hard as he does, on getting your golf into shape!"

"In 6 lessons over a period of a year, my handicap has come down from 11.1 to 5.6 and,
I'm consistently playing to it.
Barry's approach is fun, methodical, with no quick fixes. Based around solid
foundations, that gradually build into an all round approach that will serve your game
better in the long run. From swing analysis to physical dynamics, to a better mental
approach, Barry has the knowledge and experience to improve you game. And, like all good
teachers, he has the desire and hunger to always be learning.
If you are serious and want to improve your golf game at whatever level, may I suggest
you pay a visit to Barry Young - it's cheaper than replacing lost balls!"

"If you want it technical, he can be technical. If you want it simple, he can explain it
simply. If you want to be able to play more shots to give you different options, he's
your man. I have no hesitation in recommending Barry to all my friends."

"Although a keen golfer for many years I have only ever had a few lessons and never
bettered a 17 handicap. Deciding to do something about it, I was recommended to Barry by
a friend who has successfully reduced his handicap. Barry focused me on the basics and
with a bit of dedication on my part to the practice drills, my game is improving
consistently. As a result, I am enjoying my golf much more and confident of reducing my
handicap".

I am sure you will agree, golf can be so frustrating, especially when you have been playing a reasonable
game for many years, then suddenly everything starts to go wrong- you cannot even manage a decent drive, your
fairway shots are pretty miserable and as for your chipping (I would rather not talk about it).
It was at this point I decided to arrange some lessons with Barry – a most pleasant and amiable golf professional.
The difference in my game was immediately noticeable (I hope it lasts) – it will, if I remember what Barry has taught me.
Barry’s teaching technique is easy to understand and take on board. He has persuaded me not to sell my golf clubs just
yet! And I am sure he can do the same for you.

The great thing about Barry’s teaching is the different level it is pitched at depending on your ability and needs.
His approach to me as a golfer of many years with a single figure handicap can be quite technical which is fine for me.
On the other hand he has taught my 15-year-old daughter from a raw beginner aged 8 in much less technical environments.
He has been terrific in keeping things simple and above all fun which is just what she needs to keep her going.
